Art of Flight

Art of Flight is a short story written and letterpressed in 2011. The exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and denouement are used as metaphors for the flight pattern of a short trip between Chicago and Michigan. The flight becomes a space of flux between two different homes.

"Bridges and roads are sewn together with callused hands and squinted eyes. What is harder to make: Streets or lace?"

"The horizon line seems like an etcetera. There is more and more, etcetera, etcetera."

"I once read that if you sleep eight hours every day and live to the age of ninety, you will have spent 30 years or 1/3 of your life in a dream state."
